The Women’s Fund is committed to supporting groundbreaking solutions to complex problems facing women and children and to being a catalyst for enduring change.
We are pleased to announce that the 2019 grant applications are now open. The three initiatives for 2019 are:
Strengthening the economic well-being of women and their children in Topeka and Shawnee County through financial literacy.
Integrating science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics (STEAM) in out-of-school programs aimed to improve academic performance. Out-of-school programs include before school, after school, off-site and/or summer school learning programs.
Mental health programs/projects which serve children in Shawnee County.
If you are interested in this grant opportunity, please note that a one-on-one session is required prior to any group submitting a proposal. These sessions with Grant Committee Chair Shelli Crow-Johnson and Women’s Fund Board Chair Jana Barry allow you to learn more about The Women’s Fund and our initiatives and help determine whether your project is compatible with our initiatives.
These sessions will be held at the Topeka Community Foundation office, 5431 SW 29th Street on Monday, November 5th and Tuesday, November 6th from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM and will last 20 minutes. Please be prepared to present your project idea in that amount of time.
A formal Request for Proposal will be issued in November 2018 after the mandatory one-on-one sessions are completed. Please contact the Topeka Community Foundation at 785-272-4804 to schedule the one-on-one session.
The Women’s Fund is a donor-advised fund of the Topeka Community Foundation. The goals of The Women’s Fund are to create a new pool of funds from women interested in becoming philanthropists through the power of collective grant-making and to prepare the next generation of philanthropists.
