iGive U

We believe that parents pass on to their children the values of generosity, compassion, community and gratitude. Family giving makes volunteering, charitable giving and an awareness of community needs a valuable part of family life.

iGive U – School of Philanthropy is designed to assist families in having a conversation about charitable giving. It provides a step-by-step discussion which helps families:

* Define their values
* Identify their interest areas
* Create a family giving mission statement
* Make strategic decisions about charitable giving

The three-hour session is free and open to children ages 8-13 and their parents and/or grandparents. In addition to a hands-on volunteering opportunity, each child receives a Giving Card to redeem and designate for the nonprofit organization of his/her choice.

For more information or to receive correspondence about future iGive U – School of Philanthropy sessions, contact: Marsha Pope at pope@topekacommunityfoundation.org
